How to Get Government Funding for Your Home Care
Did you know that Alberta Health Services (AHS) can pay for your home care?
You do not have to pay out of pocket if you qualify for provincial funding.
Here are the 4 simple steps to get funding and use it to hire Golden Chapter Home Care.
Step 1: Request an Assessment
Call Health Link at 811.
Tell them you want to request an AHS Home Care Assessment.
AHS will assign a professional Case Manager to your file.
Step 2: The In-Home Visit
An AHS Case Manager will visit your home.
They will look at your health needs and daily routines.
They will approve a specific number of care hours for you each week.
Step 3: Choose Your Funding Style
When AHS tells you how many hours you get, ask them for one of these two options so you can work with us:
Option A: CDHCI (Easiest)
This stands for Client Directed Home Care Invoicing.
You choose Golden Chapter Home Care to provide your care.
We bill Alberta Blue Cross directly for your hours.
You never see a bill or handle paperwork!
Option B: Self-Managed Care (SMC)
AHS sends a monthly direct deposit into your bank account.
You hire Golden Chapter Home Care and pay our invoices using those funds.
You send simple quarterly reports to AHS to show how you spent the money.
